ABOUT
Chip Mesec
My paintings are my method of capturing some of the many unique beauties of the Yellowstone region. From the small animals and plants hidden from view to the majestic snow-covered peaks that shine in the sun, all of these magnificent details encompass a unique part of the West that my family and I are lucky to reside in.

My start in painting began by trying to capture some of the grandeur of the mountain ranges in wood, from which I have been constructing furniture, turnings, and carvings my whole life. Unfortunately, I could not seem to hit upon a satisfactory result, so I turned to painting and found a new outlet.

I paint in oils and acrylics, with acrylics as my go-to paint for my panoramic panels. I am embracing oils for their ability to capture color and blend sky, cloud, and water without equal.

I hope you see the spirit of the animals, the majesty of the peaks, and the changing colors of the grasses and trees in my paintings.
